Bands named after video games...

Heh, I thought I had accidentally found another one...

 

Was looking at the thread about soothing Genesis music and remembered the 32X game Kolibri. Went to look up "Kolibri music" and found that there's some Russian band named Kolibri. "Wow, another band named after a video game!," I thought. Then I saw that they first formed in 1988 (Kolibri video game released in 1995) and that "Kolibri" is actually just a different spelling of "Colibri" a genus of hummingbirds and so... yeah...

There's also Dead or Alive (the band) but it could be the other way around- band first, then the games.

Rival Schools takes their name from the 90's capcom 3d fighting game. Their first album is named "United By Fate", which is also the subtitle of the video game. Great stuff if you like heavier alt rock. Then there is a indie rock band called up up down down left right left right b a start who have an album called "Worst Band Name Ever"
