With a working disk drive? Good luck little buddy! :rolling:

Best seek out an SD card solution so whomever you're giving it to can actually use the damned thing. ;)

Dunno, I have a boxed up ST somewhere, that I bought along with a 2600 devkit for the 7800, full docs and software running on the ST from a 2600 programmer, about 15 years ago. Why would it work any less now, it hasn't been used? Or is your point that it hasn't been used, so gears are dried up, etc.?

Belts. Capacitors, chip sockets, dirty heads, alignment, etc.

Fire her up and see... odds are, the disk drive belt has turned to mush. And/or the TOS chips need to be reseated. ;)
