jedimatt42 #3 Posted October 10, 2015 The poll is a radio box, and I think you need this to be a multi-select sort of answer...

I've also got almost enough parts to assemble a small TI-990 system. . .
Opry99er #7 Posted October 11, 2015 ...... No need for anyone else to comment. That 99/2 is the jewel, IMO.
Iwantgames:) #8 Posted October 11, 2015 TI-99/4A, TI-83, and TI-89 here I seen a old TI calculator at thrift but really don't know why I want it so haven't bought it
Vorticon #9 Posted October 11, 2015 TI-99/4A, TI-83, and TI-89 here I seen a old TI calculator at thrift but really don't know why I want it so haven't bought it I wish I had that discipline... I tend to be an impulsive buyer, although mostly with retro stuff, to the great dismay of my wife Soooo, in order to even things out, every time I get a package in the mail, she visits her favorite store -TJ Max- and gets something as well. Fair is fair...
krslam #10 Posted October 11, 2015 CC40, 99/4, 99/4A and 70+ different TI calculators for me including a TI-83. And a Tomy Tutor if that counts.
+Ksarul #11 Posted October 11, 2015 I listed my Tomy things too--they were partly designed by TI. The Powertran Cortex came out of a plan by three TI engineers from the semiconductor division to use available parts to build a computer. Management didn't want to green light the project to avoid divisional infighting, so they got permission to give the design to a computer magazine with no references to the project's origin identified in the documentation. And I have half a dozen TI calculators too--including a pair of TI 83s from different production eras, Owen.
Willsy #12 Posted October 11, 2015 That 99/2 is *such* a cute design. Really neat.
ti99iuc #13 Posted October 11, 2015 This is Part of my collection and this is a screen of one of my own TI-99/2 powered on, just i need for a working keyboard because both of the /2 has keyboard problems.
Willsy #14 Posted October 11, 2015 From what I remember the 99/2 is fast. It uses the 9995 cpu. Can't remember now but it may have no video hardware at all. Done in software as it is on the Sinclair ZX80 and ZX81. Anyone know?
+Ksarul #15 Posted October 11, 2015 The video for the 99/2 is output using a purpose-designed TAL (a masked Gate Array). @Ciro, with the fact that the matrix for the 99/2 keyboard was a membrane, your only recourse may be to look up restoral techniques for membrane keyboards and start experimenting until you succeed in fixing the ones you have. Mine supposedly works, but I haven't tried to test it yet. That experiment will be done later this evening. . .as my youngest really wants to see it working.

+Ksarul #17 Posted October 12, 2015 I actually came down here to this computer on my way to the box so I could take it upstairs for the test. She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed had other plans for my evening yesterday. . .
Retrospect #18 Posted October 15, 2015 Geek mode <on>According to this poll, 6 people here own a TI99/4 ..... they must surely be very rare now. I actually prefer the upper-case font the /4 has , especially when you add a background colour to the characters, they fit in the 8x8 cells better...... +Ksarul #19 Posted October 15, 2015 @ciro, which sidecar for the 99/4A are you missing? I see you have four in your picture--but there are actually five different ones (32K, RS-232, Disk Controller, Video Controller, and P-Code).
ti99iuc #20 Posted October 16, 2015 @ksarul, i missing the classic sidecars Video and P-Code ...in the picture there are four but because 2 of the Disk Controller ... it's only for scenografy
