wapchimp #1 Posted April 12, 2003 Sorry no pics - but this has been bugging me. When I was younger my Nan (how cool was she) had a video games machine to keep us occupied. It looked like a 2600 with the wood effect/real wood - it had two controllers attatched via curly cords which sloted into the machine either end/side. The controllers had dials on them & changeable 'keypads'. I'm pretty sure it had donkey kong aswell. It was a cart machine & maybe had credit card size game cards aswell. My memory is a little fuzzy as it was 15 years ago. What is/was it???? cheers

Vectrex-Atari #3 Posted April 12, 2003 Did it look similar to this? This is the Sears version of the intellivision:
A2600 #4 Posted April 12, 2003 Or just the Intellivision (Portofino Model) the first intellivision system in '
wapchimp #5 Posted April 12, 2003 yep - very similar - not in white, but usual black. Maybe the controllers slotted this way though > & <. But may have been front loading. Does it have curly cords connecting controllers to system?? Im sure it had them. I'm gunna ask her if she still has it. I don't see her very often. I can see it now - I'll pop over & she'll be engrossed in front of her TV playing frogger on it - (It was sooooo 70's). Would you belive I'm only 24??? A2600 #6 Posted April 12, 2003 Heck im 16 if you think that your case is bad! The Unit you want look like this defenetely! I own an IntellivisionII which is a smaller compact model of the 1 model Intellivision Model 1 (1979):
gulag picture radio #7 Posted April 12, 2003 Yeah, I got Intellivision II a couple years ago, and within the last year I found the computer add-on, the keyboard, and the synthesizer. I plan on using the Synth in a band setup as soon as I mod the Intellivision II for direct output, and I also need to do some customizing of the keyboard. what I really like is how lal the components match stylistically. Too bad they never made a white "modern" Intellivoice module. All I need is the Atari 2600 "system changer" and I'll feel really hooked up.
wapchimp #8 Posted April 12, 2003 Heck im 16 if you think that your case is bad! The Unit you want look like this defenetely! I own an IntellivisionII which is a smaller compact model of the 1 model Intellivision Model 1 (1979): Yep - thats it!! Is it rare??? UK/European spec it would have been. Does it have cart & mini cards games - or is my memory a bit fuzzed up there?? I said the age thing because most people who remember that machine were in their teenage years when that baby was released - making them at least 30+ now. I'm not to hot with any machine before a Nintendo NES or Sega Master system - thats what my teenage years we spent on & rampage in the arcade.... Thats my earliest Video Game memory - oh that and a Plastic brown Pong machine made by Binatone - ever seen one of those??? I plan on using the Synth in a band setup as soon as I mod the Intellivision II for direct output) That sounds pretty cool - do you have a Moog????? gulag picture radio #9 Posted April 12, 2003 I wish that I had a Moog. I've got a couple old ARP's, and the other analog keyboard is an Akai AX-80. Still, I feel really excited about music again picking up these weird videogame synths. I just found an FM synth (sort of like the Yamaha DX-7) that plugs into the C64. Still haven't played it, since it's software is on cassette and I don't have the right drive for it. If you've got a spare Moog lying around, feel free to drop me a line. wapchimp #10 Posted April 13, 2003 I'd love a moog Ive got a Marshall stack, so I'm pretty happy there. Heard of a french group called air - they moog it up & play pong in their ''sexy boy'' song/video - It strangley sounds like they have picked a riff out of the Gouls & Ghost's game on the ST aswell? Moog & Atari - They go together.
