lushgirl_80 #1 Posted October 12, 2015 Thought to share the interview I did with Pitfall! creator David Crane on my radio show yesterday. Had a great talk about the Video Game Crash of '84,and also hear David's interesting opinions about the NES(his opinion about the NES isn't in very high regard). Also asked him what he thinks about Super Pitfall for NES and if Pitfall 3 might ever be released. Anyways the interview begins at the 1:00:40 mark... http://lavalampsand8tracktheatreradio.podomatic.com/entry/2015-10-09T22_53_38-07_00
high voltage #2 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) Great interview, rocks. We still love to play Fishing Derby nowadays, a game which never ages. Edited October 12, 2015 by high voltage
+jeremiahjt #3 Posted October 12, 2015 Great interview. He is right about Star Wars not being good science fiction, but wrong about Pitfall II: The Lost Caverns not being a fun game. I assume you talk about Franken Berry somewhere on the show, where would that be at?
+save2600 #4 Posted October 12, 2015 Great interview. He is right about Star Wars not being good science fiction, but wrong about Pitfall II: The Lost Caverns not being a fun game. Missed the part where he said he didn't think Pitfall II wasn't as fun!? Said he spent a lot of time on it and was proud about the music changing with the players mood. Said he set out to create a better game than the original (unlike movie sequels)... But yeah, Star Wars is a good outer space soap opera. Leave real science fiction to Star Trek. Everybody knows that! +1 for the Larry Niven nod too.

He mentioned Activision licensed Pitall for an arcade game and that it was not very good. The arcade game has the word "the" in the title, the home games do not. I am gonna review the new Star Wars cereal on my next one. Anyways thanks to those who are listening to this one! I had alot of fun speaking to David. He's my fourth guest who is video game related. Other VG professionals I've interviewed were Nolan Bushnell, Howard Scott Warshaw, Richard Levine, and Kevin Finn(aka Glitch Gremlin from AVGN).
