in case you're still looking--

 

I have an extra 7800 but I don't know how to tell if it's an '84, it doesn't seem to have any year indicated on it.

1984 manufactured 7800's have the AT84 serial number, the expansion interface port, and should say Atari Inc. not Corporation on the bottom serial number label.

theres another 84 before the AT84. which was the test market systems . 6 digit sn.

 

Do you mean the ones with the EP serial numbers?

The socket ed chips are really nice. I had to replace the tia chip and it could not be easier. I still need a couple springs to replace the ones in the buttons.
