golbern #51 Posted November 11, 2015 I've taken quite a few apart and never seen an RF shield. I,am trying to fit a A/V mod kit from turkey and the instructions don,t match my intellivision.......the motherboard has a extra circuit board wired to it.....Strange that the Pal versions had no sheilds fitted!....Going to try and find out how to wire my uk pal version with this mod now.....no easy task by the looks of it..... +freewheel #53 Posted November 11, 2015 Neat, thanks for posting those. I've never seen the inside of a PAL unit before. (I'm not going to be any help here, just wanted to say thanks)

golbern #56 Posted November 11, 2015 it looks like you can do it the exact same way. The same parts are there for the mod It looks very similar, but frightened i'am going to solder one wire in the wrong place and bust my console for good! The other circuit board joined onto the motherboard has thrown me a little.....

SiLic0ne t0aD #58 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Here is whats left of that turkey mod.. wires are still hooked up on this spare parts board, I labeled everything.. I chopped it out of there and transplanted it into another console a few months ago. Mine are NTSC so I can't comment on PAL. Hopefully this helps clear everything up. Ignore the white and orange wires attached to 5V and Ground, they were for an LED power light mod. These 4 wires go out to the AV mod board, I believe they are labeled on the PCB (5 volts, GND in, Audio in and Video in). Video out, Audio out, and GND out go to the RCA jacks.) I did my RCA jacks like this: Edited November 12, 2015 by SiLic0ne t0aD85
golbern #59 Posted November 12, 2015 Just not sure where to solder my GND IN wire, my pal version not the same and has a red wire very close going somewhere😏. Lol. ..The other 3 wires seem to be simple and match... Sorry if I sound stupid, but as you can see I'am complete novice!!!
SiLic0ne t0aD #60 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Ground is easy to find, its the big wide fat traces.. the ground plane, usually on the edge on the mother board.. I marked the different grounds. Scratch off a little of the green solder mask and solder the GND wire to that, close to where you made your other connections. Im not sure about that one red wire.. this is the first PAL board I saw. I'll assume the pins are the same on the ribbon cable as far as voltage to the motherboard. I forgot to mention having a Digital Multi Meter is probably crucial here. I take it i can solder the ground (GND in ) wire to any any metal framing part of the motherboard ......Just as long as its near my other connections so the wire reaches it?...Is that correct ? .......Is so then i'am ready to go.. I,am practicing my soldering right now !

golbern #65 Posted November 13, 2015 THANKS EVERYBODY👌 Just fitted my A/V mod to my Intellivision. I spent 3 hours doing it ,and to my surprise it works!!! Very happy with the results, picture is good and sound is a lot better. Fixed it up to my 9 year old Plasma, rather than my new LED TV so far ...The mod cost me £15 and worth evey penny!... I wouldn't have done it myself if it wasn't for the help and advice I've had on this forum. Thanks a lot guys, and here's a few pics of my mod.... Not perfect but I'am very, very happy😀

mthompson #67 Posted November 14, 2015 Great to hear you had success. Now enjoy those games on the big screen. I especially like the sports games in widescreen.
