Nuka Cola coming to a Target near you

Recommended Posts

Nearest Target is quite a drive for me. Anyone know when they'll be available?

According to this

North American soft drink company Soda Jones will be making the Nuka Cola Quantum, which goes on sale exclusively in Target stores. Fallout 4 will also be available on that date, giving you the perfect excuse to buy it on day one and not feel like you’re making a bad decision.

So sounds like to be released alongside Fallout 4

I haven't tried any yet but I read somewhere it's just a relabled berry lemonade. Disappointing if that's true.

I was hoping it would at least be a unique flavor

Really, one could just print out their own labels and stick them on those glass coca cola bottles. I've thought about doing it a few times but I never get around to it.

Is this soda flavor even any good? I know nothing about this soda company.

Maybe they can do enough of a second release to make these worthless on eBay. Frankly, if they really wanted to do a promotion with a soda company, why not partner with a major one?

I'd like to try the beer, but I see it is in the UK only.

While I don't know about that flavor, the other flavors I've tried are pretty good.I certainly didn't find any I hated.

I am not familiar with the US market, but here in Canada Jones Soda is a niche product, but still widely available. Places like Wal-Mart and 7-11 do not stock it, but most specialty and high-end grocery stores have it. A few small restaurants do as well, but that is very uncommon.

It's on Safeway shelves here in the US and I think even WalMart carries it so it's pretty common but it's more expensive so it's found with stuff like Henry Weinhard's Root Beer

Perhaps some Target employees were buying and reselling, but they weren't at my Target.

We only got 12 of them in our store. About three were bought by Target employees (and yes, I was one). We were supposed to be selling them one per customer, but apparently our electronics team member didn't get that memo and sold six of them to some guy (non-employee). The others were to other guests that morning. All were gone within an hour of store opening.

Mine is wrapped in the bag I brought it home in and in a drawer with other video game collectibles.

I don't get why people are paying crazy money for them on eBay. It's confirmed that it isn't a new special flavor. It's just the label and cap that are different. Might as well make your own with some homebrew supplies like a capper.

Is this a safe way to store it? Do filled soda bottles eventually leak and/or explode?

I do have one sealed bottle of commemorative soda, but I store it upright in the bottom of the fridge.

I don't think it will explode unless it is heated above a certain temperature, which I doubt I will exceed in my apartment. I can see it slowly losing pressure if there was a small leak in the seal of the cap, but that might happen regardless of its orientation. Glass is a very stable material and that part shouldn't be a problem. (I have read accounts of people who have kept commemorative aluminum cans of soda that started leaking because the acidic soda eventually ate through the can.) The only real fear I have is the soda eventually degrading the seal of the cap somehow and leaking out that way. But I imagine it would take a long time if it did. (I'm not sure of the bottling technology used, but I recently read a story about some beer that was found somewhere that was over 100 years old.) I was more afraid of it being upright somewhere in the house and getting knocked over and broken, hence the wrapping and putting away in a rarely opened drawer.
