xCoduster
Hi I wondered if there is a program that can convert wav files to a TIFile that can be loaded in an emulator t.ex Classic99?
Shift838
Hi I wondered if there is a program that can convert wav files to a TIFile that can be loaded in an emulator t.ex Classic99? I think CS1er will do it. http://www.cs1er.com
xCoduster
I think CS1er will do it. http://www.cs1er.com My computer says that it's a virus
xCoduster
Nevermind I just turned off my antivirus program
+mizapf
You can mount the WAV file in MESS as a cassette image, e.g. mess ti99_4a -cass1 myfile.wav If it is a Basic program you can load it from cassette and then save it back to a disk image. Opry99er
Michael, Does MESS save to tape format via the audio out port as well? That could be useful.
+mizapf
No, it saves to a WAV file. But you can play that file with some media player later.
Opry99er
Ahh.. Yes, that IS useful. I am going to try to transfer some BASIC files to my TI via the audio port on my computer. Sounds like I need to get on Chris's GUI Launcher.
xCoduster
Ok so now I have a FIAD file but I can't load it into the classic99 emulator
Opry99er
What steps are you taking to load it?
xCoduster
I load it in as a disk file and then I type in OLD "DSK0.THENAME" and then RUN "DSK0.THENAME" after that the emulator prints out " * Can't do that"
Retrospect
Do it all again but with DSK1 instead? or any of the 3 DSK's already setup in classic99 Also - make sure you're using the right format - sometimes it gets confusing when we switch from DSK to FIAD
Opry99er
The Classic99 root directory has 3 file folders in it called DSK1, DSK2, and DSK3 respectively. Drop your FIAD (non disk image) TIFILES file into the DSK1 folder, then type RUN "DSK1.PROGNAME" or whatever it is.
xCoduster
Now I moved the program to DSK2 folder and typed RUN "DSK2.PROGNAME" and I just gets this message: " * Can't do that" and I've also tested with OLD "DSK2.PROGNAME" but then I gets an I/O Error
xCoduster
Those anyone have a working link to the program called TIBText so I can see if there is any code on my fiad files?
Opry99er
Have you read the manual for Classic99? Here is what you should do next. When you are in XB, Open EDIT-->Debugger. Then attempt to load your program. It will tell you what the problem is. Or, post your file here and we will help you get it running. xCoduster
It tells me that my program is an unknown file type
Opry99er
Okay, then we know it is not a FIAD BASIC/XB program. Could you post the file here? We could help you.
Opry99er
If not, download TI-99Dir, a fantastic program by Fred Kaal. It will tell you what you have, what format it is in, and even let you modify the format if need be. If you have the code for the program, you could always paste it directly into XB, then save it or run it that way.
xCoduster
Ok it's a program my dad made when he was a kid and it's called Cheque Book http://www.mediafire.com/download/44te7nxdafen12y/Cheque+Book Edited November 4, 2015 by xCoduster
Opry99er
Okay, this is not a BASIC PROGRAM file. Let me see what I can do with it (if anything)... Some others may have more insight than I. Are you sure this was written in BASIC/XB?

xCoduster
I have a Wav file that I recorded from a cassete player in AudaCity here it is http://www.mediafire.com/download/ez8e98lds9cu0ms/Cheque+Book.wav
Opry99er
Okay... here's the deal. Your wav file is of poor quality (volume, tone, etc). Using CS1er, the debugger had the following to say about the wav file: ** READY ** Wav File:Cheque Book.wav Position:35 Locating File sync Reading Qty of Records Locating Data Mark Record Qty BAD!:0,4 Bad Datamark @ 298397 Bad Datamark @ 298653
xCoduster
I can't run a normal fiad file either
