Recommended Posts

Hello guys

Oliver Rapp made this. It takes you on a virtual trip through the 800XL.

Sincerely

That is an amazing video! I'm sure 1.77MHz CPU instead of 1.79MHz indicates PAL correct? Also, my NTSC one that I used to own had all chips socketed.

Cool. Nice touch how they put a mix of soldered and socketed ICs. Even went to the trouble of creating the delay line (visible above the CPU, higher profile, different pin layout to standard DIPs).

A few complaints though - MT Ram, c'mon! If it was a real 800XL those Rams would be gone and proper memory in sockets would be present.

They went to the trouble of pointing out some of the major ICs, including the Basic Rom but omitted Pokey, the OS and the MMU.

Also, some of the © dates on the chips seem wrong from what you'd expect in production. Did any 800XLs have 1984? A lot of the years seem later than they should be.
