Are 1040's basicly the same size?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I just found this little jem in the sales section on the board today. These dust covers are beautiful, but there is not a single one for our STs. Obviously there is a difference in size between our 520's and 1040's. But I am wondering if there is a difference in size in the ST/F/M, STE, Falcon, etc. He said that he needs to have a console sent to him so that he can fit a cover for it. I have a new 1040STF that I got recently that I am not all that attached to. If I send him my 1040STF, should it fit the ST/FM and STE? How about Falcons and Mega ST? I don't have these computers so I don't know there sizes. Anyone want to chime in? Thanks guys, later.

The STFM/STE/Falcon are all the same size , the only difference is the ST which is smaller due to external PSU and floppy drive. The MEGA is a desktop type machine , totally different size.

As Exxos implied, there isn't necessarily a difference in size between those, unless you mean e.g. between. 520ST and 1040STF.

You'd need at most 4 covers for the whole ST range, although the STF/STFM/STE/Falcon size would cover the majority of ST owners:

  1. STF/STFM/STE/Falcon
  2. Mega ST (2 box design with separate keyboard)
  3. Mega STE/TT (2 box design with separate keyboard)
  4. ST/STM

I'd buy at least a Falcon one and maybe more if they end up getting made.
