Thorsten Günther
Many Mega STs were shipped with TOS 1.02 ("Blitter TOS"/"Mega TOS") though, not with 1.04 ("Rainbow TOS").
+eebuckeye
I upgraded to TOS 1.04 thanks to Exxosuk!
exxosuk
I upgraded to TOS 1.04 thanks to Exxosuk! Have you doubled check with sysinfo it shows as TOS104 ? or checked the "Desktop info" for the animated colour FUJI ? If you brought the PCB version with the PLCC ROM, that has TOS 102 and TOS104 built in, selectable via a jumper link. +eebuckeye
Yep.. it shows the animated rainbow in 'desktop info'.
exxosuk
Yep.. it shows the animated rainbow in 'desktop info'. Probably the thing to do is try and find a way to check all your keys are working correctly on your keyboard. Also try holding down control - alt - delete for a few seconds see if that works. +DarkLord
<control> <alt> <delete> for a "warm" reboot and <control> <alt> <shift> <delete> for a full cold reboot. Chris is right, it does take a moment or two to kick in, at least here on my Mega ST4 with TOS v 1.04 it does, so don't just slap at it. +eebuckeye
I was playing 'Flappy Bird' and tried to reset it so I'm wondering if that was the problem.

When some software totally takes over the system, you might have to reach around and actually use the physical reset button on the back of the machine. Otherwise, if the first warm boot key sequence doesn't work, try the cold boot one... HTHs.

Indeed, lots of games (if not most) take over the system (interrupts) and key presses are not handled by the OS anymore. In that case the <alt><ctrl><delete> combination is never caught by TOS. I generally I would only expect the key combination to work in GEM programs. Robert
