+MrFish
I'm looking for a couple of utility disks that don't seem to be in any of the archives. QuickCode is a set of macros for use with Mac/65: QuickCode - Atarimania FlashBack is a backup program for use with SpartaDOS: FlashBack - Atarimania Info for both can also be found here: Antic Reviews - Power Tools If anybody has an ATR of either of these to share, or has a real copy and would be so kind as to make an image, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MF Edited November 22, 2015 by MrFish
+bf2k+
Are you referring to the old Flashback by Orion MicroSystems? A backup utility? I have v1 and v1.01 around here but I don't remember it working with SDX... mine worked with SD 3.x. Maybe I never tested it with SDX. EDIT: oops never mind. I was thinking of Hardback not Flashback. My bad. Edited November 22, 2015 by bf2k+
+MrFish
Actually, now that you've brought up the subject, it looks like I quoted wrong (already edited above though). FlashBack is also just SpartaDOS, not SpartaDOS X, as far as I can tell. Edited November 22, 2015 by MrFish
+bf2k+
I'd like to know more about Flashback just for historical curiosity. I know that Hardback was written in Action! by Chris King of Orion Micro Systems. It was probably written about a year before Keith Ledbetter (also OMS) went to work for ICD. I am curious as to how or if the two programs are related (codewise or otherwise). I know the RESTORE programs for each are named 'restore.com'. I also wonder who at ICD wrote flashback. +MrFish
Same thing here; just historical interest. I was thinking the same thing about them being related, after seeing they were both for SpartaDOS. Useful utility for use on the SDFS 2.0, should work also with SDX 4.4x (SDFS 2.1) though I never tested this since SDX 4.4x comes wit its own backup tools. The atr is from the version I baught in 1990 per mail order from ICD Germany. Flashback_Copy_Original.atr
