gladders
Hi all, was unsure how to word the title to this thread. Anyway. I ordered a fully-working in great condition Atari STE a few weeks ago but it got badly damaged in the post, so the casing was totally destroyed when I opened it. I have since sourced an intact replacement casing and last night swapped the STE's innards into the new housing. It looks great, although I think one of the corner screw holes has sheared and no screws will thread through it, so it has a loose corner permanently!) Anyway, I am puzzled with how to get the floppy drive in. It seems to have these plastic cylinders sticking up from the PCB that it sits on, however they seem not to fasten into the drive - it just sits on top, and seems in a strange position. I put the housing on and seemed to get it aligned, but the moment the computer is moved the drive slips from its placement and I can't get floppies in. Can someone tell me what I've done wrong? I've looked around for videos and diagrams but it seems that it's a not a problem for anyone else!
catmando
It's ABC stuff, there are 3 screws that go through the cylinders you talk about and screw into the base of the floppy drive.

Odd...I didn't see those anywhere. So do they screw in from outside the casing, from underneath?

Zogging Hell
Don't worry those, or similar screws aren't too difficult to source, I'm sure there was a thread on the different types somewhere on Atari forum or here, can't seem to track it at the moment though.
