Screaming Wings Championship

Hello,

 

I was playing (after so many years) Screaming Wings (our little "1942" in A8)...and looking for the meaning of letters "X" and "D" dropped by enemy planes, I ran into Atarimania's article about the game http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-screaming-wings_4549.html

 

In one of the instruction's pages, they mention a contest for the "Biggles Rat award" -whose winners would be announced for the early in 1987. Does anybody have information about this championship?
