Famicom/NES Street Fighter 2 Pirate Rom problem

Anyone ever played this game? I cannot for the LIFE of me figure out how to choose my fighter at the beginning screen. I want to use Ryu but everytime I hit any button it goes on into the game without letting me choose.

Give it a go and see if U can figure out what I can't.

I think I saw a video test with the same issue. The selection screen might just be bogus. It won't be unseen if that game was made by Chinese hackers to include in cheap Famiclones.

Could well be a ROM with issues. I watched a guy play on You Tube and he selected the player he wanted from the title screen but of course did not show HOW to do it.
