Atari 2600 on Elementary

Recommended Posts

I saw an ad for tonight's episoce of Elementary. From what I cam gather, the detectives must finish a game to get a clue. Having never seen this series, I can't give any more info, except to say the episode title is called The Games Underfoot. I plan on watching it (or recording it and watching it tomorrow. I'll report back after I watch it and let you know what I thought.

It would be cool if there was enough shown for someone to homebrew a version of it (with box and such) if it doesn't actually exist. Or, if the higher-ups at CBS had the brains to offer that game on their cbs.com sight. But then it would also be cool for them to hack the old Superman game into a Supergirl version, right?

I didn't have a chance to DVR it, but I'll go on Bittorent and see if I can download it and watch it. I really want to see this episode!

Try CouchTuner. We don't have cable or satellite, and use CouchTuner to keep up to date on all of our current shows. And as a bonus, it's free! Lol!

I'll have to check this episode out later today if it's up on the site. Elementary is one of my wife and my favorite shows.

They did show a fair amount of gameplay on the episode, as well as a bit of the box. :)

They definitely incorporated Atari, ET and the landfill dig into the story.

The names were changed - Atari became EmeryVision, and ET became Nottingham Nights. And the landfill wasn't in New Mexico.

They did show a 2600/VCS, but it was somewhat disguised.

The game graphics looked authentic, like what a real homebrew might look like, but I have no idea how they accomplished that.

And there was a twist or two to the story, of course.
