timsit #1 Posted December 13, 2015 Is this a Wico Y Cable for the 5200? The cable is in good condition but I'm having issues and wonder if anybody has some advice. I connected an Atari 5200 controller, this cable, and a Wico command control joystick :- the Start/Pause/Reset button still work as excpected- The movement and button of the Wico do nothing (I tested with my 2 working wico joysticks) and the movement seems blocked to the direction right-down. ave1 #2 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) I own a defective one, too. Nothing works at all when it's plugged in (I have the 5200 Wico stick). I don't see any creases or areas of damage in the cords, but somehow it doesn't work... it's really pretty odd. bohoki #3 Posted December 14, 2015 looks like one to me those cables are made kind of weird the wires are crimped to a friction connector and those are just pressed onto the back of the pins then a coating of clear plastic and over that the rubber like handle they can corrode and make them no longer have contact you might be able to make it work if you lightly smack the handle of the plugs handle part with a hammer hoping it will jar them to make a connection but if its a bad wire in the harness its done things get old and break after all they are nearly 30 years old
Amityville315 #4 Posted December 24, 2015 Ugh. I just got a Wico stick on amazon and it didnt come with the Y adapter. Bummer! Are these hard to make or find? Should I bother keeping the joystick?

Would you recommend keeping controllers plugged into the cables and the cable plugged into the console so you don't have to keep unplugging them? Amityville315 #8 Posted December 31, 2015 Will the Y adapter work with any atari 2600 joystick or knockoff? The Wico I got needs to be sent back. Should I hold on to the cable?
