EricBall #2 Posted April 17, 2003 Know thy market. Beanie Babies are far from a "one-of-a-kind" item, so you should be able to watch several auctions and read through more to get an idea what the going prices and shipping rates are. Look for things important to the particular market. (e.g. for Beanie Babies, collector are interested in the condition of the item, how it was stored/packaged, whether it still has the original Ty tag, and markings for differentiating varieties and "model years") Then you need to figure out things like how you are going to accept payment, how to handle shipping (including out-of-country), and steel yourself for the various problems which will arise (the bad bidders, the bad buyers, shipping problems, etc.)
video game addict #3 Posted April 17, 2003 You just click the SELL button from the top of the page. From there follow whatever links it gives you. If you're not sure where to list, you can do a search for the items you have to see where other people list them, and maybe even give you some ideas on how to go about selling them, opening price, BIN, when to list, etc. If you have pictures handy you just upload when you get to the screen, after you've typed description. It's all very simple. The only thing you might would have to do before you can start selling is update your account to a seller's account. If you login into My ebay there should be a link from within there to do so. You have to put a credit card or checking account on file so that they'll received payment for listing fees, FVF, etc. If that's done thou, you should be able to list straight from the selling page. Inky #4 Posted April 17, 2003 Oohh.. I don't have a digital camera. That's going to be a problem.. Actually, no. I have a polaroid and a scanner...
Inky #5 Posted April 17, 2003 I did a little scoping of prices, and I see that the things aren't going for as much as I thought they were... Still though, I despise Beanies, and I love cash. Easy trade off.
DaveAtari #6 Posted April 17, 2003 When I first started, I remember Ebay had an awesome tutorial to show you exactly what to do, step by step. If you're listing a cheaper item, keep your listing prices low ( they have a lot of options, that can make their fees get pretty high ). You'd be surprised of the quality pictures you can make with only a scanner ( just throw that beany baby right on there ). Finally, just research everything. You'll find out easily what's selling and what's not ( use the "Watch this Item" feature ). Good Luck
