+5-11under #2 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) See the link in my signature. I need to get the expansion port working. Hopefully another prototype during winter sometime. Video options would be available from me, otherwise the F18A. Maybe I need to change the board shape so it fits in a Jaguar shell. +5-11under #5 Posted December 18, 2015 Hi. Any more details on Video Options?? Would/will there be: TMS9918 TMS9928 TMS9929 V99x8 ?? Thanks Probably... TMS9918 for composite, TMS9928 for component/YPbPr, F18A for VGA. I haven't investigated TMS9929. V99x8 I don't think I'm too interested in. Is it compatible by default? matthew180 #7 Posted December 21, 2015 The V9938 and V9958 aren't even pin compatible with the TMS chips so no. Not to mention that the 9938/58 are only *software* compatible with the 9918A/28/29 for well behaved software, and will not work with some games. I know from experience during F18A development that there are CV games out there that abuse the VDP register selection bits, and on a VDP with an expanded register set (like the 9938/58 and F18A) that will cause problems. The CV is what exposed this to me during F18A testing and the reason I had to introduce the register-lock protection on the F18A. The 9938/58 do not have such register protection and would end up with corrupt register settings.
