maibock #1 Posted April 17, 2003 It's a long story, but I'm looking for perhaps a lacrosse type game for any console prior to xbox, gcube and ps2. Anyone know if one was made? Thanks!
Inky #2 Posted April 17, 2003 Has Jai Alai ever been made into a console game? I see a new collection for the GameCube or XBOX.. Forgotten sports...
sku_u #3 Posted April 17, 2003 How about the World's Strongest Man Competition, or Lumberjack Games? I can picture it now, trying to throw that 30 pound keg 15 feet in the air, hanging on a bar for 2+ minutes, sawing through a thick piece of hardwood... joshk #5 Posted April 17, 2003 I think there was one made for the Playstation, but the name escapes me.
Ze_ro #6 Posted April 18, 2003 Does no one remember World Games by Epyx on the old C64? There WAS a caber toss event! There was also a ton of other weird sports like cliff diving. I have never seen a lacrosse video game, although I love watching the games on TV. Rumor has it that our town is getting an actual NLL team soon, which would be sweet. How about Rugby? I imagine it's popular enough in Europe that someone has made a video game... but I've never seen one here in Canada. --Zero
Scooterb23 #7 Posted April 18, 2003 There have been two Rugby games that I know of: Rugby World Cup 95 for Genesis Rugby for PS2 the Genny one is good, haven't gotten the PS2 version yet. All I want is an Australian Rules Football game!!!!
Ze_ro #8 Posted April 18, 2003 I keep trying to convince my friends that it would be an easy feat for an NFL game to include CFL rules (3 downs, different field size)... but for some reason, they think that's too much to ask! Bah, as if they've every programmed anything... I know they'll never stick the Blue Bombers in a video game, but an option for CFL rules would be neat (Just like most hockey games allow international rules such as no-touch icing and bigger rinks) How are Australian rules different? --Zero

maibock #10 Posted April 18, 2003 have never seen a lacrosse video game, although I love watching the games on TV. Rumor has it that our town is getting an actual NLL team soon, which would be sweet. My brother in law is coaching an NLL team Rugby World Cup 95 for Genesis I really want this game too! I had it for the pc, but it just didn't play properly on my machine so I had to return it. Ze_ro #11 Posted April 18, 2003 How good is the Genesis rugby game anyways? Rugby seems pretty complicated to me, what with the lifting your teammates up, and giant dogpiles on the ball... --Zero
junglehunter #12 Posted April 18, 2003 joshk Posted: Thu Apr 17, 2003 3:54 pm Post subject: I think there was one made for the Playstation, but the name escapes me. You're thinking of Blast Lacrosse. I played it once and it's a pretty good game. Of course I can't really play it for hours on end because it sort of gears towards the gameplay style of Midway's NHL Hitz games. Hoped this helped maibock!
maibock #13 Posted April 18, 2003 hey thanks jungle hunter! I found it. well not the game but the site http://www.acclaimsports.com/blastlacrosse/
sku_u #14 Posted April 18, 2003 At least there's 1 LaCross game out there. I'm surprised that there isn't more.
Scooterb23 #15 Posted April 18, 2003 How are Australian rules different? A lot less padding, a lot more anarchy. Think of it as equal parts soccer, football, and mosh pit. I can't really describe the game, it's just too nuts. BTW, the Rugby game for Genesis is pretty good, graphics were smallish, but got the job done. When scrums happened, it was hard to tell what was going on... Fun game, although I very rarely scored, no matter how hard I tried. *waits for Rugby crowd to laugh at lame joke* *crickets*
maibock #16 Posted April 18, 2003 yeah a little pricey too for a PS1 game, retail is around $35 and I saw ebay bids go for 25-35.. I still have to get it as a gag for someone

maibock #18 Posted April 18, 2003 Well, How cool was that? My wife dropped the kids off at work so she can go Easter shopping.. On the way home the kids wanted to go to EB Game Stop.. Sure enough they had Sega's Rugby World Cup 95 and got it for 5 bucks I also picked up Triple Play 96 for the Sega as well for 2 bucks! Couldn't find the lacrosse game though, but still trying.. slapdash #20 Posted April 21, 2003 All I want is an Australian Rules Football game!!!! There was an "Aussie Rules Footy" game for NES, released in Austalia by BeamSoft, or LaserSoft, something like that...
Scooterb23 #21 Posted April 21, 2003 @ Slapdash - I suppose it's ultra rare and will only play on my NES if it is upside down right?? Australian---upside down, oh never mind... I'd love to find that...
