SCROLLANOID

SCROLLANOID is an Arkanoid inspired game where you play as the Ball equipped with the laser beam power-up.

You can control your scrolling journey throughout the large Breakout board knocking out bricks or blowing them up with the laser.

You can also use your laser to engage your opponent in Dog fights.

After you get out enough bricks you will heat up and cannot engage your laser while in this state, just keep bouncing around knocking out bricks and you will eventually make it to the next level.

Two player mode:

Player two can take over for the computer as your opponent at anytime.

Demo mode:

A demo takes over whenever you stop playing.

SCROLLANOID design history:

SCROLLOUT - follow the Ball, a playable side scrolling Breakout game and a barely playable four way scrolling demo designs contributed to the play-as-the-ball perspective used in SCROLLANOID.

To-do list:

Opponent firing back.

Mines with tractor beams warping space to trap you.

Any other ideas that might go well with this game?

Same here :?

A 7 year old figured it out with no instructions and had a blast playing this game at a New Year's party over the weekend.

The 7 year old simply liked playing video games and had no preconceptions to get in the way; I think what throws some adults is looking for a familiar port. This is not Breakout or Arkanoid, just inspired by them and it's played from the perspective of the Ball.
