People we lost in 2015

Recommended Posts

Interesting... whatever the differences are hope upon hope not to lose a good person over some problem between only a couple out of the hundreds that are active here every week. What can you say... Looks like a lot went on before having read about it all and just want to get everyone somewhat content and active again.... KJ on the other hand is central to 3 or 4 major issues and I think he tries to make amends but then blows it again for whatever underlying reason... I can say I don't always word things correctly and probably never will, first step to getting along is to realize that fact for any one of us are not perfect and can't always see things like someone else does. I should realize by now we can't fix things among people whom truly have a conflict of personalities but it can't hurt to try! That being said, I still feel Prowizard is an important, helpful, caring person and would like him to return.

Riiight, the annual AtariAge body count year in review thread. What a lovely idea for a tradition. :skull:

No more abrasive than anything you post in any thread, anywhere. I'm amazed you have feelings. You sure never come acorss as giving a shit about anybody else's. Very odd post from you.

I should point out that although ProWizard does not currently participate in the AtariAge forum, he continues to make valuable contributions to the Atari community in other ways.

Yep, currently active on the ABBUC forums and has been a very good friend to me and my family, really nice helpful and perfectly mannered person as are 99.99% of people here. I act on the point that I want to treat people how I'd hope they would treat me but to get back on topic, I don't mind celebrating the people that have helped in a multitude of ways but I also don't want to 'rake over' the dead, its an awkward subject.

I'm stunned -- didn't realize that Prowizard had "signed out" of AA. Didn't realize there had been a problem. Oblivious, I guess!

That's good to hear, but I miss seeing him around here.

There's no reason to leave the forum unless you're actually ganged-up on. Just bickering with one person is nothing.

I would tend to agree with you, but that doesn't mean others can't have reasons that are real and legitimate to them.

I'm not really around a lot anymore, though I've never given up my affection for the Atari. That little box inspired me to go from Basic to Assembly (with a side trip to Action!) as well as opening the door to digital logic and soldering skills.

I might be a little off base at this point in the discussion, but as posted by 'The Doctor' at the beginning of this forum thread, it might be nice to include those that have returned to the fold as well; people like Paul (Pab) Sungenis and Michael St. Pierre.

I used the heck out of PabQwk back in the days when I had a shell account with a Qwk tosser. Suddenly logging into a Syncronet or Wildcat BBS to keep up on the latest FidoNet feeds was an offline joy. It feels like the old days on 'Comp.Sys.Atari.8bit' to see his name again.

And Michael, I've still got an original TransKey and AT keyboard attached to an 800xl, and still remember trying to find a way to justify the purchase of a GenLock (which, sadly, I never could).

I guess when you're an old fart, it's kind of nice to see a few old faces that surprise you by showing up when least expected.

:) That is my location.

I agree that this topic is a bit morbid, but having one place to look to see who has passed may be helpful if you were trying to contact someone by phone/letter/email without reply. It's a good idea to let a family member know about your account like I have done. I think it is important that they can get in contact with people we interact with and may actually care if something happens to us. I had a relative who was a software developer and passed away. You would not believe the number of responses I received after accessing the email account and all of the friends who were worried. I want my relatives to know that there are people as passionate about the items I collect so that they can arrange for my items to go to someone who will enjoy them as much as I do when I am gone.
