It appears that eBay is inflating shipping charges. Check your auctions.

Just another reason I do a flat BIN w/free shipping. I generally know what it will cost or use flat rate boxes for most bigger items. On the occasion I need specifics I do calculated. Does it change your calculated rates as well?

There's been complaint on eBay forum. It seems like those using mobile devices are getting screwed with errors. Also if you used GSP and are sending to international buyer using that program, eBay will tack on an extra zero or 2 to shipping amount for buyer to pay (doesn't matter if you offer free shipping).

I've offered free shipping on my listing because their shipping calculator kept fouling up. A couple years back sellers who used FedEx were getting overcharged by a few pounds or more.

Yeah it is rare for me to list anything I need calculated on or ship something big. For the sole purpose shipping it is a hassle. While I am in NY I always estimate my packages to CA and yes if someone from PA buys it I save a few bucks but generally speaking for what I sell the difference usually isn't a whole lot w/flat rate boxes taken into consideration.

I flat out refuse to use GSP They can shove that up their ass. The fact they re-pack your items was all I needed to know to make me never use it. Now it is not to say I will not sell internationally I just will not use GSP. I create the label personally and send it directly to the person not a repacking hub!

Of course I have noticed it is VERY hard to create labels through PP for international orders. They completely removed the 1st class option and it may have to do with ebay trying to force you into GSP. No biggie I set-up a USPS account and create my labels that way, screw them I will ship personally one way or another.

I've also noticed inflated shipping costs through the Global Shipping Program. Now there's another shipping issue? Yikes!

GSP is always inflated. It's how they make money, they tack on an extra zero to shipping amount. Item arrived broken or missing something because GSP repacked it badly? They'll refund it, they can afford to since they rape buyers on shipping charges.

If every buyer were to start filing claim of damaged or missing item, GPS would either have to teach their worker to better repack, not throw out original box and manual just to save a few ounces, and not throw out 2" worth of padding on item just to make it smaller (and more breakable), and they'd start losing too much money. The only good thing GSP is for sellers are: lazy seller doesn't need to deal with customs form, and if something happens to shipment after it's picked up at GSP facility, they are not obligated to issue refund.
