Atari800XL case material composition?

What material is the Atari 800XL's case made out of?

 

I'd like to use a laser cutter to cut a window for my SIO2SD device, but I need to be sure that it's safe to do so, i.e. no chlorine fumes or anything that will corrode the equipment.

According to the Sweet-16 Production Specification, the 1200XL's keyboard and housing are ABS plastic, and the translucent strip above the function keys is high-impact acrylic. I would assume the same materials were used for the 800XL.
