Write protected disc Atariwin800/altira

I have been playing with some of the demos in the fujiology download and I'm trying to load one of the hi tec team demos... When it loads it says remove write protect and hit start.

 

It's been forever since I have run into this issue, is there a setting in either emulator to flip the write protect?

Flip to R/W or Virt R/W in Altirra.

The big demo was one of my favorites - I actually still have my PD copy from Page 6, along with all of the hobbytronic demos

I tried that. I remember being warned not to do it within the demo and I then changed some text. I thought that you'd have something come up on the screen saying "Naughty naughty!" or something like that.

 

No, my disk drive started beeping and it got filled with the text "DISK F*CKED".

IIRC it plays a digi sample first. The sample was taken from the movie 'scarface', so that will give you a hint

It may have done - I was around 15 at the time so it would have been 22 years ago. I remember panicking as I didn't have a backup of the disk and I'd paid £2.50 for it from the New Atari User PD library.
