Upp! for Atari 2600 Released on Etsy

Recommended Posts

Upp! for the Atari 2600 has been released!

It can be picked up on Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Gemintronic

Copies #4 - #19 are still available. I tried to keep costs down at $29.95 with shipping (within US). Please hit the "Contact Shop Owner" button if International shipping is needed. Please understand International shipping is a special case and delivery is only as good as service to that country.

Included is a clear plastic case, cartridge and a single printed sheet for instructions.

Donated and purchased a rom copy. Props to a nice playing game.

That means a LOT to me. I'm working full time indie/homebrew now and your support literally determines how far I can go. Thank you!

Damn it gets addicting. LOL. I made it to the 5th board where the bricks are closer than ever.

You really outdid yourself and should be proud, this is a nice game! Hope you gain good sales from this. Its old school fun for sure.

The laser blast that comes up from the ground is an arse bandit. It gets even worse setting the difficulty switch (either one) in that it will track your last position. :P

Congrats on the cart release!

I bought the ROM at itch.io, i wish more people would put up their 2600 Homebrews there.

Just gave the game a whirl and it's fun to play, actually better than i expected once i got the hang of it. :D

I just tried the link but I just to a general page with no game info. I tried a search but nothing came up. Are they sold out?

Edit: Found them. Sorry. All sold out.

Number #2 out of #20 is on eBay. But, I'd suggest going for the digital download on Itch.io

UPDATE: Carl Williams did a write up of Upp! here:

This was not only my first time publishing a game, but also an experiment. I wanted to know if people would except a 'brew with minimal packaging if the game and price were good. Pretty sure the answer is YES. That means I will definitely make more for the next game :)

I received my copy today and I am really digging the packaging, the only thing I would do is add the game name to the spine.

Great job loon!!

Damn, Loon. I was monitoring the "Interest" thread, and I ALWAYS monitor the Marketplace - where this thread belongs - so I missed out. Congrats on the sale and keep up the good work, but please put your next game (or more of this one) in the Marketplace.

Now it's $46.67. Some desperate bidders...

Auction ended at $360!!

I'm speechless... There some serious collectors out there.

I figure that bid was based on the presumption that this was the last copy EVER. Since it's "original" price was $29.95, I would not have bid over $30.

Still waiting to hear from theloon about his take on this, specifically are there plans to make more (I'd happily pay $50 for it in a REAL box AND provide the cart inserts) and what he has to say about the eBay copy selling for $360.

So, what about it, Loon?

The Loon mentioned that this was an experiment and he wanted to see how the community would respond to a low budget production.

When watching the video of the gameplay, it looks like the laser is sometimes created to far to the left (like at 0:15, 0:22 and 2:20). At 0:40 the player even gets tagged by this bullshit.
