unhuman #1 Posted January 14, 2016 So much development is going on in the main area... Can we get it right or just go back to a single forum? I check them all anyway...
Retrospect #2 Posted January 14, 2016 Yeah I'm always going between the two. I think it might end up a single forum again anyhow. At the end of the day this forum is all about the TI whether that be the hardware guru's or the software guru's
Albert #3 Posted January 14, 2016 I'm willing to modify the forums if there's a consensus on a "better" way to organize them. ..Al
Stuart #4 Posted January 14, 2016 +1 for going back to a single forum.
Retrospect #5 Posted January 14, 2016 If it DID go back to a single forum, might I make a suggestion that I think could help us - a better search function, that pics up a word associated with a topic title rather than any word used in all topics ... like if I typed into the search bar; "Parsec" .... it would only look for topic titles with that word, then we can find stuff much faster. Asmusr #6 Posted January 14, 2016 Going back to a single forum would be fine with me, but then I suggest to unpin the highscore competition.

You can already do that with the “advanced search” gear to the right of the search field. ...lee

Vorticon #9 Posted January 15, 2016 I personally prefer 2 separate forums. There tends to be a lot of chatter on the general forum, and it would make it harder to see new developments at a glance. My 2 cents.
unhuman #10 Posted January 15, 2016 I wasn't specifically advocating a single forum. But, I'd definitely prefer a single forum to development posts being in general and vice-versa.
Willsy #11 Posted January 15, 2016 Just use more discipline and select the most appropriate forum before posting. :-)
+Schmitzi #12 Posted January 15, 2016 Hi, independent from all the question of the 2 forums we have (at the moment), and how it ends, here my suggestion for both solutions (1 only, or 2 forums) What about an additional "wiki"-subforum with wiki-like, knowledge-based threads only, and ALL pinned ? (Or none pinned, or what ever, but wiki) - Maybe this is too hard to seperate or to surf ? Duck and away.... xXx
+OLD CS1 #13 Posted January 16, 2016 What development stuff is going on in the main? I must be missing some stuff, then.
Opry99er #14 Posted January 16, 2016 The Christmas demos thread was one that sort of overlapped. There was a submissions thread in the Programming forum, but the bulk was in the main thread. Personally, I don't see a problem with that--- but others may disagree. I have no dog in the fight either way. I loved our forum before the split and I still love it since. The majority of hardcore dev stuff is done in the development forum... If there is some minimal overlap, does it really affect the quality of the experience? The only downside I can see is a slightly increased complexity of future searches of legacy content.
