AtariBuff #1 Posted January 15, 2016 My Intellivision II is in need of a socketed IC (U9 -LAD) with part number 5872-0010. Can someone help out?
atari-dna #2 Posted January 15, 2016 U9 is the Mattel EXEC rom, http://console5.com/wiki/RO-3-9502 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mr_me #3 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) I believe the Intellivision II has a single Exec chip and doesn't have an RO-3-9502 Not sure where I got this photo but according to it I see the following U1 CPU U2 16-bit RAM RA-3-9600A U3 Exec RO-3-9506 U6 Sound AY-3-8916 U5 grom RO-3-9503 U7,U8 gram U4 STIC U10 color processor AY-3-8915 U12, U13 scratchpad ram Where is U9? Edit: U9 is right next to the CPU. In this photo its labelled "Mattel-LAD 2609-0011". LAD is Linaear Analog Digital and feeds the RF modulator (according to the Service Manual http://console5.com/wiki/File:Intellivision_II_Service_Manual,_Model_5872.pdf ). I'm guessing its a custom mattel chip and may be the reason INTV didn't use this design. Edited January 15, 2016 by mr_me
atari-dna #4 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) U9 is the extreme upper left NW edge of your photo, I think it's the 39502 This chip is custom stamped in my Intellivision II Edited January 15, 2016 by atari-dna

AtariBuff #6 Posted January 16, 2016 Yes, that's the one. Any clue where I might obtain one of these?
SiLic0ne t0aD #7 Posted January 16, 2016 If its a custom IC, the only place to acquire such a replacement chip would be from another donor Intv II.
atari-dna #8 Posted January 16, 2016 Yes, I doubt there are a stockpile of custom Mattel Electronics ICs out there. You'll have to scavenge this from another Inty2 "donor" board Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
