Does anybody know if such a site exists? A comprehensive site of game reviews with an average score from critics and then general public?

One man's Rotton Tomatoes game is another man's favourite, so what's the point?

You can argue the same for movies, books, and music... yet there are hundreds of sites for those subjects.... so the point is does anybody know of a site like that for video games?

Can always check out the VGC's reviews when you want "less forgiving" reviews. Actually, I find him spot on on many (most?) of the games he dislikes.

Seconded. And you can grade the games he reviews so there is his grade and the reader's grade.

Gamespot is a decent game review site as well. And also you can do your own reviews as well. And IGN is another one. I actually do a lot of browsing on VGC for a game that I like to get. Most of his reviews are spot on and some he harshly criticizes games due to not giving a longer and thorough gameplay.

Metacritic doesn't grade quite the same way as Rotten Tomatoes does, but they do recent video games as well as movies.
