jetset #2 Posted April 20, 2003 Oh my GOD is right!!! Where does someone find an unopened Atari like that? It'll be interesting to see who wins it....theres a helluva bidding war going on it seems. I must not be a true collector though. It would be nice to have a factory sealed 2600..but not for that much! And CERTAINLY if I'm never going to use it. What's the point??? SS #3 Posted April 20, 2003 Pretty stiff. A bit out of my price range.
CPUWIZ #4 Posted April 20, 2003 I don't think those were shrinkwrapped.
MrRetroGamer #5 Posted April 20, 2003 I don't think those were shrinkwrapped. I'll agree with you on that, look at the top of the box, it has a HANDLE built into the cardboard. If it came shrinkwrapped, how would you use the handle???
Pitfall Harry #6 Posted April 20, 2003 I don't think those were shrinkwrapped. I'll agree with you on that, look at the top of the box, it has a HANDLE built into the cardboard. If it came shrinkwrapped, how would you use the handle??? I just love a logical argument. Good job! Ben
xulchris #7 Posted April 20, 2003 hahah someone should send a message to the winner and let them know that they just funded the shrinkwrap machine the seller just bought.
GruBBworM #8 Posted April 20, 2003 LOL Probably a box of rocks thinkin nobody would attempt to open it!!! why would the buyer even break the seal to see if it wasnt full of rocks instead of the actual system :-)
xulchris #9 Posted April 20, 2003 I just noticed that a lot of the stuff from auctionsbykelly are shrinkwrapped. Im glad Ive never bought a game from her before. I'll keep a mental note that a shrinkwrapped item by auctionsbykelly is not necessarily a new item...isnt there some kind of law against this kind of thing? xulchris #10 Posted April 20, 2003 oh whoops not auctionsbykelly. i dunno how i got her confused as the seller, anyway, nevermind my post.. btw, when do I get the ability to delete my posts?
Ed Siegler #11 Posted April 20, 2003 I'd sure love to know what drugs that dumb bastard who won the auction is doing

holygrailvideogames.com #16 Posted April 20, 2003 I should have bought a bunch of those from Best Electronics last year when they still had them in stock. I am almost positive that my brother still have a new Atari 2600. After I tell him about this one, he probably will want to sell it on eBay. We found a bunch of new systems with about 20 new games at an outlet store in Branson about 8-9 years ago.
Mock #17 Posted April 20, 2003 I have bought stuff from Kelly and all of it has been new and unopened. The auction note says it is new but has been shrinkwrapped to protect it... I don't see any deception and she seems to be a nice seller, and FWIW I have always received stuff fast and as described...she does have some good prices on new sealed games. Mock *I realize this is not one of Kelly's auctions and I kinda mixed and matched a little there...but - you get the point...lol.
glitch #18 Posted April 21, 2003 Is that the new going price for a NIB 2600? I don't know anything about the guy who won this one but the guy who was 2nd (only bid $800 ) paid $349.99 for a NIB zelda & zelda 2. $157 for a boxed NES w/ a ROB. $122 for a NIB Atari Lynx. $90 for a NIB Sega Saturn $60 for a NIB nintendo ROB unit (not too bad a price) Is it me or are all of these prices a bit high
xulchris #19 Posted April 21, 2003 actually if you keep going he bought several lynxs and robots. seems like he would be a good guy to know
MrRetroGamer #20 Posted April 21, 2003 The auction note says it is new but has been shrinkwrapped to protect it... I don't see any deception.... This Atari 2600 has never been opened and is shrink-wrapped...preserving its original manufactured form I think the intent was not to intentionally be deceptive, but you must admit that this statement is pretty ambiguous. I would interpret that statement as meaning that ATARI shrinkwrapped it, if that was not the case, it would have been helpful to say who did.
Gregory DG #21 Posted April 23, 2003 Here's another one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...7&category=3528 A better deal than just a 2600 by itself, but this is ridiculous.
