retrobits #1 Posted January 27, 2016 I'm trying to find some good paddles. I have a a few sets but I'm tired of cleaning and they really don't work that well even when fully cleaned. Isn't there anywhere to get them anymore? I see Best Electronics is sold out. Also the nice repros at www.atgames.us are sold out. What is everyone doing about paddles these days? Nutsy Doodleheimer #2 Posted January 27, 2016 You can try the Atari Guide store. They sell systems, games, and controllers. And they are guaranteed to work plus they issue a warranty. http://www.atariguide.com/store/products.htm#CONT
Justin Payne #3 Posted January 27, 2016 How hard would it be just to replace the pots?
Kyle22 #4 Posted January 27, 2016 It is easy to replace the pots. Finding the correct one is difficult. Best is temporarily out of the pots, but they have a page that shows how the paddles are put together and how to replace the pots. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/cx30_paddle.htm
BigO #5 Posted January 27, 2016 What have you done to clean them? There are products which, in addition to cleaning, also protect and lubricate the surface to keep them working longer.

gilsaluki #8 Posted January 27, 2016 1 Meg Pots can be found at Radio Shack. The shafts would have to be cut to size and modified for the knob, but they are good pots.
gilsaluki #9 Posted January 27, 2016 I bought some new Paddles at AtGames.
retrobits #10 Posted January 28, 2016 What have you done to clean them? There are products which, in addition to cleaning, also protect and lubricate the surface to keep them working longer. Thanks BigO, I've only carefully disassembled the pot and used alcohol to polish the surfaces. It works for a little while. What has worked for you? retrobits #11 Posted January 28, 2016 I bought some new Paddles at AtGames. I'm tempted to order from AtGames, but (at least today) on the paddles page http://www.atgames.us/ATARI-Paddle-Controllers-for-Atari-Flashback-5-ARC200.htm, I see that availability is "Back Ordered". I've had some bad "back order" experiences so it makes me hesitate.

Deoxit: cleans, lubricates and protects. I hate the smell, but the product gets the job done for me. And make sure you protect the surroundings from overspray. By design, it leaves a slight lubricating film. http://store.caig.com/s.nl/it.A/id.1982/.f?sc=2&category=
