I've got a couple Atari 400 or 800 (not sure which) expansion boards in my parts pile. Neither has any IC's, just empty sockets. Are these things worth anything to anyone or should I just chuck 'em. The part no. on one is C012989 REV E 1979, and the other has CA051109 REV ? in ink stamped over the top of C015500 REV 6. If anyone wants them, let me know.

The CO12989 is a 800/400 OS ROM board (10k) , goes in front slot of 800.

No, the 400 OS is on the motherboard, not a separate plug-in board.

The 400 has a CPU/personality board and a RAM board.

I could be wrong.

I believe the "personality" board is another name for the 800 OS board.

CO15500 is the 400/800 6502C/Sally CPU board(NTSC?), I couldn't find any information about the CA051109.

Possibly it's the PAL version of the 6502C/Sally CPU board, and this CO15500 was modified to CA051109 specifications.

Yes, I make this mistake. Anyway. The 400 only has two slots for cards, the CPU board and RAM board, the OS

is on the motherboard, has to be. The 800 has CPU board inside the cover and OS card and RAM card(s), where

they are easily accessible to plug/unplug.. You gotta take the 400 apart to get at it's plug-in cards.

Best sells a 48k RAM board for the 400. I believe the CPU and RAM cards for the 800 also work in the 400.

Probably the CPU board can vary the actual CPU chip.
