Buyatari #4 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) You make these? They look better than the final one IMHO.I agree. Even though one artist did the sketches the final appears to be the work of a different artist. It is rare for a prelim to be less detailed than a final when done by the same artist. I'm told this was a common practice as several artists would work on the same title at the same time. You make these? No I can't draw a hangman figure! These are vintage Atari pieces. They were done by the same artist who did the Gremlins cover. Some pics of those sketches are in the 5200 section. In that case of Gremlins the same artist also did the final. Two-in-the-Belfry #5 Posted February 9, 2016 I really like the second sketch. You can feel the speed in it - makes the one they used look almost static next to it.

Yeah I always thought the one they used looked like the guy stopped on the raceway to look at his front tire.
Buyatari #7 Posted February 9, 2016 Yeah I always thought the one they used looked like the guy stopped on the raceway to look at his front tire. I really like the second sketch. You can feel the speed in it - makes the one they used look almost static next to it. The second one had changes made to it. If you look closely you can see the two different shades where the paper is taped together and/or overlaps.
