Intv Flashback controller change

So i had to buy a new flashback because both my flashback controllers were bad. One was bad from the first time i tried to use it. The other went bad after using it for the christmas carol competition. I had purchased this one from toys r us the day they came out. I purchased two systems from dollar general before christmas that year. I had someone elses system a couple months ago when i first noticed the difference. I however noticed the difference again when i borrowed one of the systems i bought from dollar general when i borrowed it from the friend i gave it to to test my controllers and vice versa. I just bought another system and it has the same changes. The first system i had was from toys r us. All the other systems i have seen with the changes were from dollar general. Not sure if that means anything or they found a huge defect in them in the first month or two.

So in the newer controllers on the left, the pop buttons are smaller and so is the font on the buttons as apposed to the one on the left. It is actually far easier to see in person because the bigger ones are taller than the smaller ones as well.

Internal differences. New on left old on right. This is proof enough to me that they were aware of a problem. They made the button layer one thin layer instead of the two thicker layers and they punched holes to keep the mylar from suctioning together.
