Is Dschungel Boy a hack of Pitfall ?

I remember this old Quelle game Dschungel Boy (btw. the name is half German half English - correct would be Jungle Boy).

 

It was similar to Pitfall an AFAIK Quelle sold several pirate games , so anyone knows if this game is a hack of Pitfall or a just a clone programmed by someone else ?

Yes, it's a hack.

Yes, must be a hack from Pitfall. Top way is easier, because no alligators. But you can't jump over the dog (scorpion) at the underground way. Thats Impossible you always die by the try.

If it is the octopuss looking thing is really a "spider monter leopard" and the dog in the underground is supposed to be a lion.

The back of the box also refers to Tom Boy as "she." Now I'm struggling with whether I should take down the scan of the Tom Boy box I have on my website. The front of the box features her... gasp... topless!

I have a CCE Brazilian Pitfall cart that looks very similar to the regular Pitfall cart from Activision..only with CCE replacing the Activision logo at the bottom of the screen.
