Omega-TI #1 Posted February 21, 2016 I read somewhere that the UberGROM board does not have to run a 1284P, but it can also run smaller and cheaper AVR's if someone just wanted a dedicated Editor/Assembler or Extended BASIC module. Does anyone know which number this chip is? Also has anyone seen any .BIN images for smaller AVR packages?
+Ksarul #2 Posted February 21, 2016 The UberGROM board will work fine with the ATmega 164, 324, 644, and 1284 (16K, 32K, 64K, or 128K of Flash). No one has created images to use with the smaller chips. . .and considering that the prices for all of them except the 324 are in the $8-$10 range (the 324 is about $5), there isn't a price gain here. Tursi #3 Posted February 22, 2016 Yes. I designed the code to be portable to any AVR chip, so long as it has enough pins. But the price of the 1284 is less than 1/3rd what it was when I first released the code, so there hasn't been much demand. I got an email yesterday asking me whether the PS/2 keyboard code could run on the 1284, it's really hit that level. (I will have to recompile it, I couldn't reply to the author).
