IM CONFUSED ABOUT HOW GAMES ARE RANKED RARITY WISE.I HAVE BEEN MEMBER OF EBAY ALMOST SINCE IT STARTED AND I CANT REMEMBER A TIME I HAVENT SEEN WATER WORLD UP FOR AUCTION.MAYBE THE SAME WATERWORLD HAS BEEN AUCTIONED MANY TIMES.BUT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR COSMIC COMMUTER BY ACTIVISION AND YOU HARDLY EVER SEE ONE UP FOR AUCTION.SAME WITH SUBTERRENEA.MAYBE I HAVE MISSED COSMIC COMMUTER EVERY TIME ITS BEEN OFFERED BUT IT SEEMS IT HARDER TO FIND THEN WATERWORLD EVEN THO WATERWORLD WAS A SPECIAL BUY ITS SEEMS TO BE PLENTYFUL.ANYBODY HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON THE SUBJECT.

I disagree, Subterranea shows up a lot more often than WW and so does Cosmic Commuter. Just my opinion.

cpu: as someone who spent several years aquiring subterranea on ebay, while easily aquiring a loose AND a boxed Wing War, I have to disagree.

Are you talking boxed Subterranea or loose ? I've seen about 50 loose ones over the course of a year.

no waterworld on ebay at this moment.

 

i have to agree that waterworld shows up more often on ebay than subterranea, about three times as often (30-some waterworld vs 9 subterranea last year i noticed).

 

and, i saw six boxed waterworld on ebay last year. i have only seen two boxed subterranea on ebay in the last two years. oops, make that three, saw one in a BIN last week.

 

but those are just my observations. if cpuwiz counted 50 subterranea last year, i must have missed quite a few.

Here's my input:

I bought my cosmic commuter from another collector about four years ago. I couldn't find one on ebay back then. I really do think it is correct as a rarity five.

 

As for Subteranea, I've found two loose copies over the course of seven years. Neither was from ebay and I overpaid for one of them. I think the rarity is correct at a 6.

 

I still don't own a waterworld...

so just to add a little confusion... don't confuse rarity with price.

 

if you had $500 and were willing to spend that on either subterranea or waterworld, i bet you could purchase both within a month on ebay. if you only had $50, you could buy a subterranea on ebay in a month, but it might take several years to find a waterworld for that price.
