NoelleAmelie #26 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) Ouch Perhaps check power after the power switch? Take a look at parts 3 and 4 here. http://colecovisionzone.com/page/coleco%20industries/tech.html Checked power after switching the power on. Everything seems to be in order, and the cartridge slot is getting the right power. I think the VDP and CPU are getting power, though I'm not really sure what I should be checking for on them and on what pins. Also, I mentioned this in the OP but things do work to a small extent because I can get the title screen to Centipede by Atarisoft to appear, though no other game does this. (even though literally nothing else works beyond that). Edited March 2, 2016 by Noah120
7800fan #27 Posted March 2, 2016 Even without the cart connector, a severed trace can cause black screen because on the mainboard, all of the connection from CPU goes through cart connector to the BIOS chip. Removing the old connector can break the connection so check those once you verified that CPU, BIOS, and video chip are all getting correct power. The one on it right now is the one it originally came with.
