Bixler #1 Posted March 1, 2016 How do you prefer to play your hardware – modded for better video output, or good 'ol original RF?
Nutsy Doodleheimer #2 Posted March 1, 2016 I prefer to keep my consoles in stock and not modded in any sort of way. I just use the standard rf cable to coax adapter in the back of the television. I guess I am too old school and a relic for upgraded video quality.
Bixler #3 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Ugh, can't believe I forgot to say which I personally play: I play an s-video modded Sears Tele-Games Sixer right now. Edited March 1, 2016 by Bixler
IHATETHEBEARS #4 Posted March 1, 2016 S-video for a 46' TV.
+save2600 #5 Posted March 1, 2016 I've tried various a/v (composite mostly) modded systems throughout the years, including a handful of 2600's and 7800's. Most of them seemed fine and a less noisy pic seems to seduce at first, but once you really get to playing, start to notice things that are "off" (be it dot crawl, wrong colors or uneven audio to name a few irritants) compared to playing via the output you're used to. In this case, RF on a CRT. Maybe I haven't had the right mod, resistor or cap values were off or whatever, but for now and for the most part, I still prefer RF over a well shielded 75ohm cable.

Very understandable.
toiletunes #7 Posted March 1, 2016 my 7800 has standard RF and composite. I usually use RF, unless making videos.
KreatorKat #8 Posted March 1, 2016 My 2600 is modded for RGB; needless to say the video quality is beautiful. I could never go back to RF lol.
zylon #9 Posted March 1, 2016 I have modded consoles, but use original RF for my regular play.
