+Sporadic #1 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Hi all, I wanted a break from the NotOutrun code so decided to fire up a new project. Something i've always wanted to make is a beat 'em up and the Jag being short on them is a perfect excuse. The graphics are obviously and shamelessly ripped from Final fight as I wanted to get it up and running first. There's only 3 baddies and they can't hit you yet. Basically it's REALLY early work. Binary attached (tuned for PAL so might run a little quick on NTSC). As usual, created in the awesome rB+ DPAD - Move A - Punch B - Kick * + # to restart EDIT: Please download the latest version HERE Sporadic WIP BeatEmUp 030316.abs Edited March 11, 2016 by Sporadic

Atlantis #6 Posted March 3, 2016 Great ambition!Look forward to follow this project, and if it results in a full game some day, go for a JagCD release, and I'll support you with buying two copies, one for me and one for my imaginary friend on controller 2.Fight the good (dev) fight! Hammer that keyboard!
Stage_1_Boss #7 Posted March 3, 2016 Awesome! Would love to see this genre get a bit more love on the Jaguar. = )

Rick Dangerous #9 Posted March 3, 2016 Awesome. Double Dragon V is such a let down this would be a much needed addition to the jags library.
sd32 #10 Posted March 3, 2016 Great idea for a project!. Although i am more of a Streets of Rage guy, rather than Final Fight, hehe.
+save2600 #11 Posted March 3, 2016 I'd be happy with any old brawler on the Jaguar. Okay, maybe not Vigilante.
MAYAman #12 Posted March 4, 2016 No CD release please. People actually want to play it.
+save2600 #13 Posted March 4, 2016 No CD release please. People actually want to play it. No cartridge release please. People actually want to afford it. (I kid, I kid! Don't care what format, so long as it actually gets done and just isn't talked about for years and years)

JagCD #20 Posted March 6, 2016 Looks awesome -- one of my favorite genres is the beat 'em up..... Considering the era that the Jaguar was produced, it is downright shocking that no one made a Streets of Rage or Final Fight style game. Really looking forward to it.... and I would prefer a cartridge release despite my name on this forum.

+Sporadic #22 Posted March 6, 2016 New version I've turned it into a mini-game for the moment so the wip is more fun to play. Basically survive as long as you can and rack up a score. You can walk/scroll left right to find bad guys or wait and they'll find you. Dpad A to punch B to kick * and # to restart The bad guys are pretty stupid at the moment. Some more AI will probably come next! Cheers, new version attached. Sporadic WIP BeatEmUp 060316 .abs
