Is this power supply suitable for Jag and Jag CD?

I bought this for like $3 from Aliexpress for my Genesis. Is it worth risking on Jaguar and Jaguar CD? Takes up a hell of a lot less room than stepdown transformers and original bricks...

I wouldn't risk it 1a might be enough but could cause issues with attachments. Get a 1.5amp

Well, I'd use one for each device. Not split it or anything. The guys in chat said should be sweet. I just tried it with the Jag and it works mint... how many amps does the Jag draw? Official adapter is only 1.2.

Plus a lot of cheap adapters from China are over rated on the amps

Ah, right. I don't have anything like that but good point. I think it should be sweet though as they sell them here and say they're for Jag: http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charger-Jaguar-Genesis-Power/dp/B00JW6AZB2

 

EDIT: I just might not risk it with the Jag CD. That thing ain't cheap to replace.

Then it's junk. Power supplies are massively counterfeit, and given the price and the origin, it's almost certainly one of those nasty ones that fail every reasonable quality and safety test. Think risk of electric shock, overheating and damage to your equipment. You should bin it.

I only use original Atari jaguar psu's they are big indeed but I never had one broken. I use a poweroutlet with a switch so I can turn the jaguar psu's off aswell when not used I think that will be better for the psu life aswell. Better to use them for your costly JaguarCD :-)

I used to have a bunch of those same adapters, but they were with the US style plug on them. Any time I'd order Famicom stuff from a guy in HK he'd include one. They're built like garbage and as mentioned I wouldn't believe the current rating. Stick w/the original supplies or something of similar quality, not a cheapo Chinese job.
