sonnik
Yes. This is the solution I use. Do a Google search for "Apple IIGS GBS-8220".

sonnik
Note, I'm not an advocate of the "solder a jumper" on the motherboard method here. If you can wire up your own DB15 connector breakout, that's a better solution. DB15 -> VGA2 -> 1 (Red Analog)5 -> 2 (Green Analog)9 -> 3 (Blue Analog)1 -> 6 (Blue Ground)7 -> 7 (Green Ground)13 -> 8 (Blue Ground)3 -> 13 (Composite Sync)
towmater
The GBS can be tweaked to make the image position correctly, but it is still not very crisp on my GS. I also tried a 15KHz monitor directly, but that didn't recognize the //GS at all (but works fine on an Amiga and ST.) A2Heaven has some manner of RAMworks card that has a VGA option, but it has been perpetually out of stock since the site opened.
Tonyvdb
So an old Amiga 1084 monitor wont work on the GS? I have a nice 13" Sony trinitron that I may just use for now. The monitor that I got with the GS is just the monochrome one that only has composite in.
desiv
So an old Amiga 1084 monitor wont work on the GS? The internet implies otherwise... http://mirrors.apple2.org.za/ground.icaen.uiowa.edu/MiscInfo/Cables/iigs.commodore Haven't tried myself.. desiv

sonnik
Yes. You can also use P11 on the GBS-82x0 board, but you'll need the DB-15 side connector still. The GBS-82x0 side of the P11 connection (including wires) should be provided with the GBS-82x0 assembly. DB15 -> P11 input (GBS-82x0)2 -> Red (Red Input)3 -> Gray (Composite Sync)5 -> Green (Green Input)13 -> Black (Blue Ground which acts as a common ground to Red/Green/Blue)9 -> Blue (Blue Input)Yellow is not needed on the P11 input

Tonyvdb
I enjoy soldering things and am quite good at it but I think for this project I'm going to use this DB15 that has a screw terminals. https://www.amazon.ca/Swellder-Breakout-Terminals-Connector-Terminal/dp/B018GFTYY8?ie=UTF8&ref_=pe_386430_126088100_TE_item Edited March 12, 2016 by Tonyvdb
sonnik
That is actually the DB15 breakout that I used, and it works very well.
