+bfstats #1 Posted March 12, 2016 Planning on a tour of the Emerald Isle in late August. Just curious if any regular followers of this forum live there.
Thomas Jentzsch #2 Posted March 12, 2016 Not me, I just traveled there 10 years ago and I liked it very much. Where exactly are you going?
+bfstats #3 Posted March 12, 2016 Um... pretty much everywhere. Circuitous tour that starts and ends in Dublin. Not too far north, though. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure I will, too.
Thomas Jentzsch #4 Posted March 12, 2016 Sounds about the same as I did. From Dublin to Cork, more or less along the coast to Galway and then back to Dublin (with a trip to Newgrange).
+bfstats #5 Posted March 12, 2016 Pretty much. Plus Killarney, Dingle, Moher, cross-country back to Dublin. Relatives took the same trip and loved it. Really looking forward.
Thomas Jentzsch #6 Posted March 12, 2016 Yup, that was my trip too.

+bfstats #12 Posted March 14, 2016 Hello yes I'm from this beautiful island. it's truly amazing place to live. I'm from Cork and it rains here a lot but when we get sun the city looks like paradise haha. My tour takes me to Blarney which is near Cork, is it not? Not sure how much "free" sightseeing I'll be able to do. The tour is rather strictly scheduled. Yes, I anticipate plenty of rain, but that won't dampen what should be a great vacation. You should visit this place in Dublin: http://therage.ie Chris Looks like quite a store, not unlike Record and Tape Traders in the US. Dublin is both the start and stop of the tour. I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks.
nani17 #13 Posted March 14, 2016 It's not too far from Cork at all. The tours always bring people to blarney haha.
Thomas Jentzsch #14 Posted March 14, 2016 We skipped Blarney. But we were doing the tour by ourselves.
Fr0st #15 Posted March 14, 2016 Irishman here! If you find yourself in Kildare I'll meet ya for a few pints
Fr0st #16 Posted March 14, 2016 It's not too far from Cork at all. The tours always bring people to blarney haha. I love Blarney, it's definitely worth a visit, if the weather is good it's a beautiful place to visit
+bfstats #17 Posted March 14, 2016 It's not too far from Cork at all. The tours always bring people to blarney haha. Yeah, the Blarney Stone will be the closest stop to Cork on the tour. And no, I'm not about to kiss the thing. Can you imagine all the DNA on that?! Irishman here! If you find yourself in Kildare I'll meet ya for a few pints Now THAT sounds like a plan! While it appears the coach may drive through Kildare (on the way to Cashel) I don't think a stop is on the itinerary. It's a shame because of all the things I could do in Ireland sharing a few pints with a fellow enthusiast (Atari AND beer) would be the highlight of the trip. Thank you for a most gracious invitation! DAMN I wish I could pull that off.
nani17 #18 Posted March 16, 2016 I have yet to see the stone haha. You have to kiss it it's the law.... According to me

+bfstats #20 Posted March 16, 2016 Are you referring to "Northern Ireland"? The farthest north my tour goes is Galway.
davyK #21 Posted March 16, 2016 Aye. You will be nowhere near my locale.
+bfstats #22 Posted March 16, 2016 Pity. Thanks for checking in, though.
+Nathan Strum #23 Posted March 17, 2016 Yeah, the Blarney Stone will be the closest stop to Cork on the tour. And no, I'm not about to kiss the thing. Can you imagine all the DNA on that?! Just think of the flavor!
+bfstats #24 Posted March 17, 2016 Just think of the flavor! Yup. BeanBoozled Jelly Beans: Dirt, Ear Wax, Baby Wipes, Vomit, Blarney Stone...
