SSG #2 Posted March 24, 2016 This doesn't exist outside of Brazil?
VPB--- #3 Posted March 24, 2016 In Europe, Philips had made 8K proto with a special PCB for 2x 4K Eproms like this one. Aparently, not in Brazil.

CatPix #5 Posted April 6, 2016 Weird that they made two different PCB layouts. I suppose it's because they used different EEPROM chips, with with the two stickers on the second card, it's hard to tell for sure. I guess that at the time it was cheaper somehow to get EEPROMs locally rather than ordering them directly from Japan? Or maybe Magnavox had a deal with one provider in the US and Philips had one with NEC. As a rememinder, European carts were made in France, as well as the machines themselves. I suppose the American ones were made in the US?
VPB--- #6 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) The first Videopac consoles and games were made in USA and imported in Europe. Then they were made in France. The first Odyssey2 consoles and games were made in USA. Then they were assembled in Mexico. Edited April 6, 2016 by VPB---
CatPix #7 Posted April 6, 2016 Yeah, early models were imported indeed from the USA. But after that they moved to France and probably switched to a different EEPROM source. Fun that they went to Mexico, instead of Taiwan.
