Codester78
So I bought this q bert game from ebay forever ago, and seller claimed that it was for the 2600. I get it, and it doesn't fit into the system. Could it be for coleco vision or something? Thanks.
Codester78
I'll attatch a photo of the game in a second...
Lord Innit
It was released on the Atari 2600, Intellivision, Atari 5200 and Colecovision among other formats. If the cart is very close in size to Atari ones, I would say it is likely Colecovision. The photo below shows Atari 2600 on the left and Colecovision on the right, note the Colecovision version is angled along the whole length . I have the Intellivision version which is smaller than these.
Keatah
What about a picture that shows the edge connector?
Codester78
Having issues attaching the file... Any who, my cart definitely looks like the cart to the right on your pic. Coleco vision it is!
Codester78
Just in case, here it is!
CPUWIZ
Yep, 100% Colecovision. Next time you wonder about this sort of thing, look at the width of the PCB, Colecovision PCB's have wider edge connectors.
BassGuitari
Yup, Coleco. Also note that Parker Bros. labels had different background colors for different systems, too. Coleco = gold, 2600=silver/gray, 5200=blue, TI99/4a=green/teal...
RJ
Also, (most?) CV carts have weird slots on the back/bottom to hold the game's overlay, if any. Edited April 2, 2016 by RJ
