2600 Gremlins early packaging designs

A bit ago I started a thread in the 5200 with some designs that were more Atari 5200 in nature. Trying to get organized I found 3 that might also be interesting to the 2600 crowd as well.

Do you have any early w.i.p. or designs for 2600 track & field? I've always been baffled by the strange and completely out of place cart label as well as the mistake of the incorrect CX part number.

 

Was the part number at one point correct during the design phase for example?

 

Was the cheap paper quality (almost b/w) cart label to offset the extra costs involved with the extra large box? (because it had to accomodate the controller)

 

Could the label have been quick reprints to replace what originally was an "84 Olympics" licensed version label that fell through?

 

Always disappointed me that it would of, should of, could of, been a member if the silver specials, but was neglected instead.

I don't think I have anything for Track & Field.

Perhaps the change of plans had something to do with Konami ?
