+save2600 #2 Posted April 10, 2016 Saw a video on Netflix (The Rock-afire Explosion) that showcased the original designer and producer of these. Was down to one last brand new kit IIRC, but this was a few years ago. Here's a link that might help with some possible contact info, otherwise, looks like some animatronics are on eBay. https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/comments/1u3mql/guy_buys_animatronic_band_from_pizza_place/ http://gizmodo.com/5022216/a-documentary-on-showbiz-pizzas-rocka-fire-explosion-animatronic-band ...and this looks really cool! https://www.etsy.com/listing/231916734/showbiz-pizza-place-machine-animatronic And another great link: http://www.nashvillescene.com/nashville/a-hot-1980s-band-has-its-final-residency-in-a-west-nashville-bowling-alley-andmdash-if-their-animatronic-arms-dont-fall-off-meet-rock-afire-e/Content?oid=3253115

+save2600 #4 Posted April 10, 2016 Big fan of Showbiz myself. Still have some trinkets left from the good old days, including a record. Especially loved Rolfe and Earl's act!
Grig #5 Posted April 11, 2016 I think a retro Chuck E Cheese/Showbiz place would still make money. What many companies forget is that those of us who frequented those places in the 80s as kids/teenagers are now the ones making/spending money and we would love for our kids to experience what we experienced.

Absolutely! Not enough 'real' things for kids (and families together) to do today. Hell, even roller rinks are nearly a thing of the past. sigh
Ricky447 #7 Posted April 11, 2016 Yeah, I recently took a tour of Creative Engineering where I saw the Rock-afire Explosion live, it was absolutely amazing, and I've been trying to find a band or at least some characters myself!

Hell, even roller rinks are nearly a thing of the past. sigh I was able to take my 12 year old daughter roller skating on her birthday. We had a blast, especially when they played the 80s music. We used traditional 4 wheel skates and not the inline garbage. My kids are fascinated by retro stuff and are just as amazed at it as I was when it was new.

Sure thing, if I can find some characters or an entire band I'll be making an entire restoration series Here are some videos of the show I took (Sorry about the filming being poor, all I had was my phone)

+save2600 #12 Posted April 11, 2016 These things used to terrify a cousin of mine. Haha, if they were scared by *them*, wonder how they'd have felt about Barney or the Teletubbies?!
