My New Major Havoc Mockups (from Thrust MountainKing Solais)

I was inspired by those nice looking atari 2600 Major Havoc labels to modify screen shots from the following games into what a 2600 Major Havoc could look like...

 

Thrust is modified into the landing scene

 

 

Mountain King is modified into the main game maze screen (with the map copied and recolored straight from flash gordon,)

 

 

 

and Solaris is modified into the space shooting scene (with no detailed score/rader display needed (hence cut out,))

 

 

ALL colors/pixels etc are from the actual screen shots, just moved around creatively.

Just accept that whenever you post mock-ups, SOMEONE *cough* will make derogatory comments about them. It's in their blood, they can't help it. As usual though they look great.

Did you know in the Major Havoc coin-op, there was going to be a sideview version of Star Castle?

 

Also Lyle Rains coded much of the animation of the Major Havoc character and when bored and folding his arms and tapping his toes is actually a representation of Major Havoc's creator: Owen Rubin, Owen would often lean against a wall, folder his arms and tap his toes waiting for a piece of code for the game to be finished by Lyle, so Lyle decided to also code Owen's bored & waiting stance into the character...

I never knew that about the idle animations... and who knows, maybe someone will hack mountain king, thrust and solaris into one cart of major havoc :-)
