WTB Pro Controller

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

Been trying to get my hands on a Pro Controller for a while now and keep drawing a blank.

If any of you have one that you might part with then please let me know and we can discuss a price.

There is a boxed one on US eBay right now but the seller will not post to Ireland (I live in Ireland).

Dont care if its boxed or not.

Thanks.

Al.

You won't find anyone likely to part with one on here. They come up on eBay every so often and usually sell for $200-$300. I know I've struggled to track down a few myself, it took years.

You should only buy a Pro Controller if you can get it for under $100. Any more than that, and it's really not worth it at all. You will be disappointed.

An old friend just sold his for £149 on eBay. I really didn't think he'd sell it for that, but I was very wrong. It's definitely a much nicer pad than the regular Jag one.

I have several NOS (new old stock) Pro Controllers, and I might be willing to part with one, but only really in the context of a trade. It all depends on what you might have that I really want.

I am in Ireland so trading is going to be difficult unless you live in the UK.

I have a budget of £150 for this, that works out at $215.

Other than the Jaguar I dont really collect anything else. I have had my Jaguar from new and its only in the last few years that I got seriously back into collecting for it.

Well that one ended at $325. Insane!

Too bad the mold's for those things don't exist anymore... Is there a more expensive 1st party video game controller out there? Can't be.

This is a good point. I can't think of one off hand, but one will probably exist somewhere. Even NeoGeo controllers don't cost anywhere near that much...

Checked the Goatstore LLC website tonight and they had one in stock for a few $$ more than my budget so I bit the bullet and bought it. Should have it in a couple of weeks.

I had that in my shopping cart on Goatstore, but I hadn't got around to clicking 'buy' yet. Well done. ;) :_(

Found it totally by accident through a Google search.

It was a bit more expensive than I would have liked but the way things are going if I didnt buy it then I may never have got one.

Looking forward to playing Atari Karts with it.

Nice pick-up! How much did Dan have it listed for? I was looking for one for my mate but i must have missed it at The Goat Store (was recently looking on there for JagLink 2).

$199 which works out at £138 for me. Had to pay for postage too but it only comes out a few pounds more than I had hoped to pay. Very happy.

It's so crazy. I wish this was the standard controller. Remember buying one from Nick at a Jagest for 30 euro. Something is wrong...: (

Its scary is what it is. Its the second highest amount I have paid for a piece of retro hardware, the highest was only a few pounds more for a sealed boxed Jaguar console.

I am having nightmares about how much I am going to have to pay to get a Jaguar CD.

Where did the goat store get one all of a sudden? I thought I had left no stone unturned.. Any other retailers have pro controllers lurking in the shadows at any price?

The Goat Store is a great hidden gem for Jag stuff, or at least it used to be, I imagine their supply is drying up. They always had a lot of new Jag games for good prices, good Lynx selection as well. Dan is a nice guy as well.

The pro controller looks pretty cool, but I just can't justify paying as much as I paid for my Jag CD (~$130) for one, let alone much more than that price. It would be pretty cool to have the Jaguar kiosk, with jaguar and jag CD unit AND pro controller hooked up. Then maybe have the jaguar playing Battlesphere - that would be the ultimate in bourgeois retrogaming.

Sad times when people are actively willing to pay $200+ for a used game pad.

It's happening to all the retro stuff, unfortunately. Even TG-16 prices are getting insane these days. Not $200 for a controller insane, but still crazy. Getting into 8/16-bit retro gaming today is senseless.

I am willing to pay $200+ for a game pad because thats how much the they cost now. I am buying this to play with, its not an investment in any way for me, I will never make my money back if I ever sell it and I dont care.

The days of picking these up for $35 are long gone unless you chance upon one at the flee market.

I swear a year ago this was only selling for $100. I thought about selling mine but decided controllers are harder to come by when you need one and kept it. Glad I did. It seems this is only going to keep gong up in value. It eventually has to peak out though one would think.

It has to peak soon. I dont think it can go much higher than this....

An unboxed Jaguar CD with no games sold for £440 ($640) on eBay UK yesterday which is the higest I have seen one of them go for yet.
